Diversity is an essential for creative thought, innovation, and – especially important right now – adaptability for survival.
The fastest path to that diversity of thought is to ensure people with a diversity of origin have access to work at our organisation.
This means removing systemic and unconscious bias from recruiting, and creating a culture that a diverse range of people would want to work at.
The obvious examples are supporting immigrant non citizens to get visas, normalising gender diversity, removing bro culture from IT so that women can feel safe, actively recruiting the neurodiverse, and confronting racism in the workplace.
Having a wide range of attitudes amongst white cis men is always going to be less diverse in thinking, and take much harder work to achieve and maintain .
