One of the Teal Tribe, Charles Lambdin, reminded us of Prestcott’s Pickle Principle: “The pickle gets more brined than the brine gets pickled”. If your organisation is the brine, then any great idea you introduce is the pickle.
And yet the brine does taste of cucumber.
I think we need to accept that anything involving people will always be sullied by non-ideal elements. I use the analogy: you can have the purest blue ink that you have refined to perfection. If you drop it into a bucket of dirty water, it will disperse and lose its fabulous colour, but the water in the bucket will still be more blue. It’s all we can hope for.
