It is interesting that so many of Dr. Cherry Vu’s success stories are with women. Not all by any means, but the four we have written up so far are.
We have been reflecting on why this might be:
1) New ways of managing are “feminine”: Collaborative, vulnerable, empathetic, invitational, servant, inclusive. Men are held back by male conditioning. These are sweeping generalisations but we see it – more so in Vietnam but everywhere.
2) To be a female CEO, you need to be clever and tough. They’re a cut above.
3) Women are more prepared to take advice from a woman.
Whatever the reasons, we have had much success with applying the new ways of managing and working. Cherry is on the phone daily coaching, weekly in a support group, and every couple of months back in VN, growing our tribe ever larger.
