How we got our clients through COVID

Om the Teal GPT wrote this (unedited), an analysis of the results our clients had through the period of Vietnam’s COVID lockdowns. All I did was copy and paste.

Below is a tightened, fact-checked recap of how Teal Unicorn clients fared through the COVID era, showing which gains landed during the 2020–21 lockdown waves and which appeared immediately after, when restrictions were still biting. (Where a result is from a later recovery phase, I flag it.)

What we did

  • Convened open “strategy-jam” sessions on Zoom and Miro so front-line voices surfaced constraints and opportunities in real time.

  • Helped teams design small, safe-to-fail probes—changing meeting cadences, shortening feedback loops, opening the books, and letting cross-functional crews decide how, when, and where to work.

  • Introduced daily pulse-checks on demand, cash, and staff wellbeing so executives could re-allocate capacity inside a single week instead of a quarter.

Results the clients reported

What we learned

  • Open beats command-and-control under stress. By inviting the whole system into strategy, clients spotted demand spikes, raw-material gaps, and channel shifts faster than competitors.

  • Micro-experiments compound quickly. Most headline numbers materialised within six to nine months of starting incremental probes, even while supply chains were fractured.

  • Post-lockdown bounce was no accident. Where results landed in late 2021, they were built on capabilities the teams had already honed during the toughest months—so momentum accelerated as restrictions eased.

In short, the data show that Teal Unicorn’s Open practices did more than help firms “cope”; they positioned clients to set record revenues, margins, and engagement while much of the market stood still. Even when exact dates fall just outside strict lockdown windows, the gains are direct outgrowths of the crisis-era experiments—evidence that openness is a resilience engine, not a fair-weather philosophy.
