When we advance along the bell curve of adoption, there is a chasm we can fall down.

We talked about the normal distribution here.
That chasm comes from the book Crossing the Chasm, a marketing classic by Geoffrey Moore.
The chasm is a hole you can fall down when you think your idea or product is gaining momentum but it fails to pass into the mainstream majority. Google Glass is a classic example. Or Facebook Metaverse, though that barely started up the curve. You can be deceived by the noise and enthusiasm of the early adopters.
