Selling Aces is our own fast-moving simulation game that only takes an hour, to show attendees the power of teamwork and collaboration. It uses the context of selling playing cards, but it isn’t a “sales game” specifically – it is for any group.

It is a shame that there is not greater awareness of the power of games, i.e. “serious play” simulation workshops, as learning tools. These take learners to higher levels of learning than pedagogical classrooms. By immersing and doing, they get insights and breakthroughs that don’t happen by listening to lectures and learning theory.
At Teal Unicorn, we are building a diverse suite of games so we can meet customer needs for a custom learning and awareness programme, which is the first step in the advance to better ways of working. We frequently see the “lights go on” for individuals, or new levels of energy and inspiration for those who already got it intellectually.
The game is for any sized group, best to have at least a dozen, in a room (or outdoors!) with enough space to move around. It is fun, high energy, and enlightening. Attendees learn that we are all in it together, that competitive thinking can be unhelpful. We have used this game many times with great success.
