Ever since my first book sixteen years ago, people have asked about audio books. I looked at it several times over the years but the effort and cost weren’t justified for our tiny sales numbers. Not any more.
Google now generates the book for us for free! It takes a day to edit the text to make it readable, and that’s it. (We’ll spend a bit longer polishing future books).
So we piloted two books. I used my first book ever, Introduction to Real ITSM for the service management geeks. And a more general interest book, Working in IT. It may be framed as IT-specific, but most of it is about (geeky) careers in general.
The third book is Basic Service Management, a general management book.
They are all available on Google Play and will be on Spotify and some other stores in future.
Not Audible or Apple Books, they won’t publish generated content even if a human wrote the text.
