I prefered the physicality of a wall and post-its, until I had to work virtually. I changed my mind.
I now realise that online is more inclusive, of those shy to get up at the board, of those who can’t be there, of those with physical disabilities.
Equally, a virtual whiteboard stops someone hogging the pen 🙂
And of course the result is much more easily preserved and shared, and more legible.
I’ve been converted. I’m looking forward to experimenting with a virtual whiteboard even when we are all in the same room.
(just to complicate it, there is a reverse inclusivity problem: some people dont cope well with virtual tools like whiteboards or breakout rooms, or using multiple tools like Zoom+Miro. Were not all digital natives.)
