Dealing with bullying

This is a useful resource for one of the primary issues when creating a psychologically safe workplace: bullying.

The only thing I’d change is the messaging

 that bullying is “unacceptable” with “zero tolerance”. Bullying is enabled in a culture of power and punishment, of command and control. Such language only fuels it. I prefer messaging that depicts bullying as failure, alien, or inferior.  Messaging should not be about how everybody else feels and negatively reacts. The message is about how bullying reduces the perpetrator ‘s status and respect, and makes them a less valued employee – how it impacts them personally.
